When people around you fall away from Christianity back into the world, how do you view them?
Does compassion well up in your heart towards them or do you struggle to swallow your spit at their sight?
As Mr or Mrs. Born again that you are, do you sit on your moral high horse to judge, mock, and despise them like they are the worst thing after Lucifer?
If you have tasted from the well of salvation and graduated from the school of sin, don’t burn down the school. Allow other sinners to graduate too.
Compassion and genuine concern for backsliders are attributes God expects you to bind upon your fingers and inscribe on the tables of your heart. As a child of God, you should desire to see backsliders shine like a bridal ornament to be displayed again and long for their revival so they can burn fervently for the Lord as they used to – Isaiah 49:18.
In fact, it is a crime in the kingdom of God for you to be saved while your friends or relations are still wallowing in the valley of sin and pleasures of the world. It is your duty to ensure that your family members come to the knowledge of Christ and burn for the Lord brightly as you are burning.
Weigh yourself on the scale of the word of God in Matthew 28:16-20. If you are enjoying the benefits of grace alone without sharing the good news of salvation with others, you have not started living a life of impact that will count for you in eternity.
This season God is in the business of causing backsliders to come back home – Job 22:30. He needs you to help this dream come true but this can only be successful if you care for them and genuinely become interested in the salvation of their soul.
As a matter of fact, you may not have life all figured out or sure of your next meal but don’t get too busy chasing shadows not to care about what God cares about. Who knows? The solution to the challenges of your life and the key to your breakthrough can be activated by simply preaching to the unbelievers who need redemption around you.
Lift up your eyes all around, and see – Isa 60:4.
Your marketplace is your pulpit where no man can struggle with you. You don’t need to be ordained as a Pastor, Arch Bishop, or appointed as a Deacon before you can help to retrace the footsteps of backsliders back home.
It is a good time to share the word when they come to buy what you are selling or patronize the services that you render. As you meet men and women who have problems, be their solution provider. A simple “DO YOU KNOW THAT JESUS LOVES YOU AND CARES ABOUT YOU” could be all you need to open up the discussion.
If you see anyone hurting or on the verge of giving up on life, give the person hope and introduce him/her to God who is the giver of permanent hope, comfort, and peace.
Even if you are despised or mocked, continue to share the good news with those that will listen. Be persistent and consistent in your message and ensure that you never stop sowing the seed of salvation wherever you go. The efforts will count for you in eternity.
This week, as you step out, God expects you to LOOK AROUND and SEE that at least one backslider is influenced back into the Kingdom of God through you – Jeremiah 16:16.
- If you are a Driver – Drive them back into the kingdom.
- If you are a Nurse – Nurse them back into the kingdom.
- If you are a Doctor – Doctor them back into the kingdom.
- If you are a Cleaner – Clean them back into the Kingdom.
- If you are a Tailor – Tailor them back into the Kingdom.
- If you are an Engineer – Engineer them back into the Kingdom.
- If you are a Chef – Cook them back into the Kingdom.
As you give yourself and resources wholeheartedly to this reconciliation agenda, I pray that the Lord my God will work wonders through you to bring succor to the oppressed and rescue the captives from their captivities in Jesus Mighty Name.
