PRACTICAL STEPS/TECHNIQUES OF HOW TO REWIRE YOUR MIND FOR NEWNESS Part 2
Download here………..Rewire your Mind for Newness Part 2
Last Sunday we discussed the first two techniques and practical steps we can take to rewire our minds thus:
- TRAIN YOUR THOUGHTS
- TALK THE TALK
Before, we continue today, let’s step back and explore in a little bit of more details about our mind.
In a typical personal computer, we have the Hard drive and the RAM that controls the operation and functions of the computer. The hard drive can be likened to our subconscious mind and the RAM to our conscious mind.
HARD DRIVE – SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
RAM – CONSCIOUS MIND
If you want to change your behaviours, you have to first rewire the hard-drive in your mind: your subconscious before any progress can be made in the renewal of your mind.
HOW DOES YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND WORK?
The subconscious is the largest part of your mind. It contains all the messages you’ve ever received from the day you were born. It literally holds millions upon millions of thoughts grouped into clusters that form beliefs, mindsets and character traits.
The relationship between the conscious and subconscious minds is like an iceberg. You can think of the conscious mind as the tip that is visible above the water, while the subconscious is represented by the huge lower portion hidden beneath. One may not be able to see the subconscious in action, but it certainly plays a major role in the voyage you are on (journey) called life!
- THE SUBCONSCIOUS IS THE PLACE WHERE ALL OF YOUR LEARNED BEHAVIORS RESIDE.
This is where the learned part of life is stored. Once you learn to walk, you no longer need to think about how to lift up and place one foot in front of the other to take the next step. Once you learn to drive, you don’t have to think about how to any longer. Your subconscious mind automatically does all that for you without any rigorous effort or inputs.
- YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS LEARNS BEHAVIOR THROUGH PRACTICE AND REPETITION.
Just as it learned to control your footsteps when you were learning to walk, it also controls each step you take on your life´s journey based on what you´ve reinforced along the way. Our subconscious masters life daily happenings and store them for future use.
“Whatever, we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality” ~ Earl Nightingale
In the same manner, through a process known as reverse engineering one can unlearn all the bad behaviors, beliefs and mindsets through practice and repetition – in 3 simple steps
- Simply identify all the bad codes: The things that are bad that you do and want to change.
- Write a new program to replace the old ones.
- Through practice and repetition, a process known as iterations, you store these new programs into your subconscious.
You can worship all you can, pray and fast to the best of your ability or go for countless deliverances on the mountain, if you don’t unlearn the bad codes and apply the process of reverse engineering you will always be the same. God requires us to play our part by following the steps listed above in order for a renewal of mind to take place.
We the foregoing background, we shall now continue to look at the next technique in re-wiring our mind:
APPLY THE PRINCIPLE OF VISUALISATION
Read Genesis11:1-10 –Encounter at the Tower of Babel.
LESSONS FROM THE ENCOUNTER AT THE TOWER OF BABEL PRECEDENT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE USE OF THE PRINCIPLE OF VISUALISATION
There is a correlation between Language and Imagination:
Your language is what you use to paint your imagination. When you talk the talk, the basis should be the word of God. Language is a combination of words spoken in a way to communicate a message. It can be positive or negative, the choice is yours! Language is also a distinct verbal code. When your language is right, you’ll communicate the right message and you’ll paint the right pictures in your mind.
The Scriptures say, “The people is one”… – Application to an individual:
This implies that your total being – spirit, soul & body are in agreement and united. Your mind, emotions and your will are all in agreement with your body. It’s not a case of the spirit is willing and the flesh is weak – Like some folks do during prayer time. Half asleep and half-awake but when it’s movies time or time to sleep the sleep disappears into thin air. When you are in this state your imagination cannot be coherent.
They all have one Language:
This implies that emotionally, in their will and their minds they are fully made up and speaking the same thing with one voice and plan. They are united and saying the same thing.
LET’S CONSIDER ABRAM, OUR FATHER OF FAITH – Gen 14:18-24, 15:1-6
Abraham, as wealthy as he was described to be did not outsource his protection or that of his family. He went to war to protect his family. He was not only the commander in chief, but also the chief of army staff. You cannot afford to outsource any aspect of your spiritual life. You must develop the spiritual might that can be used to withstand the devil and to face the enemy when the need arises.
- Abraham responded by giving tithe of his all through Melchizedek to God’s store house.
- That was the first time tithes would be mentioned in the Bible.
- God planted/wrote eternity in the heart of Abraham to know how to give God his tithe. He responded to the call and it was counted for him as an act of faith and righteousness.
Ecc 3: 11 …eternity is planted in the hearts of men…
Rom 15:4 What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.
Genesis 15:1
Benefits Of Being A Faithful Tither:
- Your tithe is a weapon of warfare. As you become a faithful tither of all, the Lord will come through for you and fight all your battles for you.
- A tither will never lack the word of the Lord – in visions, ideas, dreams. He/she will not be left alone in the valley of despair.
- Tithes opens the flood gates of heaven on a believer and God releases abundance and prosperity into the finances of the giver.
God will be your shield and your exceedingly great reward. God will bring forth answers to the questions of the heart and the puzzles of your life will begin to make a meaning as they come together in Jesus name.
In Gen 15:1 “After these things” …
It was the “tithes of all” that Abram gave that triggered an open heaven over him. Then God applied this principle or technique called visualization to help him rewire his mind for newness to receive the promise. God wrote a new programme in the heart of Abraham through the process of iteration and repetition into his subconscious.
Gen 15:5 Then he brought him outside and said, “look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And he said to him, “so shall your descendants be.”
THREE THINGS TO NOTE IN USING THE VISUALISATION PRINCIPLE:
- Sometimes you need to change your environment
- Change your friends, let go of naysayers and associate with positive minded people that will enhance your dream and vision.
- Relocate physically from a toxic environment physically.
Create an enabling environment for yourself: If you cannot relocate due to reasons beyond your control, create an enabling environment for yourself.
Write the new program to change your perception/ focus
Abram that couldn’t see himself having one son, but he is now counting – 1…. 10, 20,…30,…40,…50 as God directed him to do. He will lose count, and start again, he will lose count and start again. Good things take time. Immediate result may not be seen now but trust God and the process he is taking you through, it will definitely come to pass and all things will be well.
With continuous iteration, this became etched in his subconscious mind that indeed his descendants shall be as numerous as the stars that he was counting.
This is what made Abram become the father of faith.
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
This is what made Abram become the father of faith. Visualization made Abram believe God. Abram responded to God’s word.
In summary, these are the STEPS that Abram took:
- God made Abram to first change his environment.
- Having identified the program of childlessness in his mind.
- He re-wrote a new program from what God said.
- Abram aligned the spirit of his mind with the mind of God.
- God used the process of visualization to write it into Abram’s subconscious.
- The scriptures says, he believed in the Lord and God accounted it to him for righteousness.
