2019 – OUR YEAR OF GOD’s KINGDOM COME – “KINGDOM TAKE OVER”

Texts: Matt 6:5-15, Rev 11: 15, 1 Chr 29:10-20, 2 Chr 20:1-30, Ps 22:27-28, Dan 4:1-37
INTRODUCTION:
In Dan 4:1-37 – King Nebuchadnezzar learnt his lesson in a hard way when God turned him into a beast. He only rose again when he recognized and acknowledged that there is a God who reigns in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he chooses. Anyone that does not acknowledge the supremacy and reign of the kingdom of God is a nonentity.
2019 has been declared as our year of His Kingdom coming unto us and a year believers will take over the kingdoms of this world. Believers are his agents of change to take back these mountains in Nigeria and in all the nations of the world. You must prioritize the kingdom of God above your daily bread, it is a year to prioritize the things of God above worldly gains and rewards.
Thus summarily, from our text of scripture in Matt 6:10, there are three major things that will happen:
- 2019 is going to be a year of Wars – Your kingdom come being a declaration of War
- It’s going to be a year of the Establishment of God’s Kingdom Agenda in our nation
- It’s going to be a year of the Enforcement of the Will of God on earth as it is in heaven.
YOUR KINGDOM COME: IT IS A DECLARATION OF WAR!! 2019 is a YEAR OF WAR!!
Whenever a new kingdom wants to take its place over an existing status quo there must be a fightback from the existing kingdoms and illegal occupants. The kingdoms of this world are largely represented by the 7 mountains of culture – Family, Church/Faith, Politics & Government Business and Economy, Education, Media and Celebration (Arts, Sports and Entertainment). It is going to be a year of great warfare because there will be clash of kingdoms on these mountains. There will be wars against the status quo, against poverty, nepotism, corruption, unjust killings, hypocrisy, fake news, fake life, fake beliefs and all the terrible vices going on in the nation and wars against any phenomenon contrary to the operations, expansion and establishment of God’s Kingdom agenda in all facets of life especially around you as His Kingdom must come and His will must be done on earth as it is in heaven.
John Piper once said: You will NOT know what prayer is for UNTIL YOU KNOW that life is war and prayer is a tool for the warfare.
We should not live like tourists on our destination to heaven. Many are seeking a life of pleasure and living a pain free life is their outmost concern hence, they live like tourists on a sightseeing mission. Life is war and for every walk, there is a war. 2 Cor 10:1-4.
What are the implications of 2019 being a year of WAR?
WE MUST BE GIVEN TO SERIOUS WARFARE PRAYERS.
To be ready to take over you must be ready for war and anyone preparing for serious warfare must:
- Live holy lives so that you will not end up as casualties – Isa 52:11-12
- Ensure that there are no holes in your armour – Live a holy life so that when the enemy comes there will be no room for penetration. Live as not to break the edge of protection of God around you.
- Put on the whole armor of God. The enemy is never on break – Eph 6:10-20
Thus, we must see 2019 as a year of Holiness!
WE ARE GOD’S BATTLE AXES AND INSTRUMENTS OF WARFARE – Jer 51:20-26
Verse 20 – Reference to Kingdoms in Verse 20 represents mountains and our spheres of influence etc. and God’s expectations of us in the kingdom takeover agenda.
Verse 21– God breaking the chariots and its rider represented in verse 21 refers to His judgement on men in authority and political office holders.
Verse 22 – Reference to man and woman in Verse 22 depicts marriage and the institution of the family and how God desires us to be change agents in destroying hindrances to the fulfillment of His purpose for the family mountain.
Verse 23 – Reference to the Shepherd and his flocks in verse 23 depicts that God is raising His ministers as battle axes and his weapon of warfare to destroy every error in the church and religious institutions. We are to destroy heresy, wrong teachings/doctrines and every seductive spirit within the church.
The farmer and his yoke of oxen represents the business & economy mountain and God’s desire for His children is to rightfully occupy the mountain and establish His reign and Lordship on the mountain.
Governors and rulers representing expressly those in politics and government mountain.
Verse 24 – Predicts 2019 as a year of payback against the kingdom of darkness. God used Babylon to punish his people when Hezekiah misbehaved by disobeying and refusing to glorify God when he was healed and his life elongated. God is raising us as battle axes to deliver His people from oppression, slavery and His wrath.
Verse 25 – is an assurance that whatever good that God does for His children in 2019 shall be permanent.
Furthermore, in Isa 44:28, 45:1-2 – God is saying that we (The church, mission force) are His agents of change this year. If He culd use Cyrus, who was an unbeliever, then He will use those that make themselves available on the various mountains that He has positioned them to be in 2019
Isa 41:15-16, Mic 4: 13 – 2019 is not a year to fear. It is a year to trust God and hold firm to His word that you are God’s battle axe and instrument of war. Surrender yourself to be used of God and hold on to His word regardless of how you feel even if you are as weak as a worm.
God has reserved the right for humans to accomplish His aims and desires on earth – Not angels. The Lord will give you powerful iron horns and bronze hooves for power and balance accordingly as instruments of warfare so that no satanic manipulation or scheming of the enemies can overwhelm you.
AS GOD’s BATTLES AXE AND INSTRUMENTS/WEAPONS OF WAR WE WILL BECOME DULL WITH REASON OF USE – 1 Sam 13:19-20, 2 Kings 24:13-16
Eccl 10:10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.
As God’s battle axe you should sharpen yourself daily and strive to be used at all times so that you will not become rusty or dull. If you are God’s battle axe and do not face battles you will become rusty, the day the enemy shows up you will not be fit for use because of accumulated rust.
1 Sam 13:19-20: There were blacksmiths in the times of old so that the swords used in the battle can be sharpened after each use and make ready for the next assignment.
2 Kings 24:13-16: There are some battles that are not worth fighting for in 2019. Take only calculated risks in 2019. You need strategy and tactics to win the wars of life. The enemy is not bothered about some believers because they have no value to him because they are spiritually cold and are not dangerous to him and his kingdom – they are the poorest (spiritually) of the land. He has them in his cage already hence, they do not face trials and temptations and think that they have a rosy life. Those of great value to the devil – the king, officers and the mighty of the land (spiritually) including the craftsmen and smiths the enemy would not want to spare.
HOW CAN YOU BECOME DULL?
- When you are not seeing in the spirit as you should
- When you are not hearing in the spirit as you should
- When you are not smelling in the spirit as you should
- When you are not feeling in the spirit as you should
However, God is the one who has called you as his battle axe and has also created the blacksmith who blows the coals in the fire and brings forth an instrument for his work. He will ensure that you are sharpened and prepared for every battle He has called you to in 2019 and beyond in Jesus Name.
THUS, YOU MUST BE TOOLED AND RETOOLED AND YOU MUST BE SHARPENED AS INSTRUMENTS/ WEAPONS OF WARFARE
The enemy does not care about your material possession or who you are. The enemy is interested in your spiritual stand with God and can go to any length to make you comfortable so you become proud and refuse to be tooled and retooled by God. This is the reason nations of the world invest in craftsmen and smiths to retool and sharpen their instruments/weapons of warfare. It’s for the same reason, that enemy nations will want to destroy your armory and industries for making weapons during any attack.
When you are retooled and sharpened as instruments and weapon of warfare, you will be on the cutting edge. You will then be able to see, hear, smell or feel what the enemy is doing well ahead of time or what he is planning to do online real time and provide counter measures through prayers and intercession. You will be able to tap into the camp of the enemy spiritually like Elisha did. 2 Kings 6:8-18.
You must also be able to see, hear, smell and feel what God is doing to counteract the plans of the enemy and help enforce it.
I pray that as God retools you and sharpens you as His weapons of warfare you will be able to see the invisible, hear the inaudible and conceive the intangible in Jesus Name.
